For UNIX shared hosting plans (except BudgetXpress and BasicXpress):
Webvisions provides you with instant access to your daily backed-up server
via SSH or WebShell (Online file manager).
This means you need not worry about accidentally deleting a file. When you
do, you can easily recover the file by copying it over to your current
server.
To access your backup server via SSH, simply SSH into your server and type:
cd backup
This will put you directly into your backup server.
Accessing your backup server via WebShell is easy. All you need to do is
to go into your backup directory or folder. You may also follow this
instructions:
- Log into WebShell
- click on GO
- Type: backup
This will put you directly into your backup server.
Raw access logs e.g. email, web are not backed up in Virtual Servers due to the large sizes of such logs. They also do not consume your Virtual Server's space quota. Customers may choose to backup these log files on their own.
Restoring MySQL database
If you have MySQL database in your account, its data files are copied daily as part of the
LiveBackup Process (above).
You can access these database files via the same mechanism - by SSH-ing into your server.
Do note that restoring MySQL database files requires a database administrator expertise. If you
require such expertise, please request this service and the updated restoration rates by writing to sales@webvisions.com with the domain name of your hosting service
and database.
For Windows Shared Hosting Plans: Accessing your Shared MSSQL Database backup file
Webvisions does an automated weekly backup of your MSSQL databases and a daily backup of your database transaction logs.
Requesting a copy of this back up: You may request a copy for a one-time charge of $50 per request. Please contact
sales@webvisions.com with the domain name of your hosting service.
The latest automated backup files of your database and transaction log will be copied to your current website FTP account with us if any. Otherwise, we will be providing you a temporary FTP account specifically for you to download the backup files.
You may also request an adhoc backup maintenance for your databases and transaction logs to be done at any time of the day for your immediate retrieval. This adhoc backup maintenance service is charged at an hourly basis of $250 per hour of maintenance. The retrieval method of the backup files by you is similar as the above.
